Power-law Behavior of High Energy String Scatterings in Compact Spaces

چکیده
Abstract. We calculate high energy massive scattering amplitudes of closed bosonic string compactified on the torus. We obtain infinite linear relations among high energy scattering amplitudes. For some kinematic regimes, we discover that some linear relations break down and, simultaneously, the amplitudes enhance to power-law behavior due to the space-time T-duality symmetry in the compact direction. This result is consistent with the coexistence of the linear relations and the softer exponential fall-off behavior of high energy string scattering amplitudes as we pointed out prevously. It is also reminiscent of hard (power-law) string scatterings in warped spacetime proposed by Polchinski and Strassler.

An Analysis of the Repeated Financial Earthquakes
Since the seismic behavior of the earth’s energy (which follows from the power law distribution) can be similarly seen in the energy realized by the stock markets, in this paper we consider a statistical study for comparing the financial crises and the earthquakes. For this end, the TP statistic, proposed by Pisarenko and et al. (2004), is employed for estimating the critical point or the lower...
متن کاملEffects of Power-Law Distribution and Exponential with Uniform Pressures on Vibration Behavior of Reinforced Cylindrical Shell Made of Functionally Graded Materials under Symmetric Boundary Conditions
In this paper, the influence of the constituent volume fractions by changing the values of the power-law exponent with uniform pressure on the vibration frequencies of reinforced functionally graded cylindrical shells is studied. The FGM shell with ring is developed in accordance to the volume fraction law from two constituents namely stainless steel and nickel. These constituents are graded th...

We give examples of modeling the string free energy whose behavior mimics that of QCD: a power-law at high temperature and an exponential decrease at low temperature. Rheological characteristics of Al2O3, CuO and TiO2 nano particles were investigated in oil asthe base fluid at 1 and 2 wt.%. Constitutive relations for non-Newtonian fluid were discussedbased on the power-law model. Measured viscosities of each nanofluid were used to evaluatethe power-law and consistency index. Results indicated that the nanofluid viscosity decreasedby increasing the concentrat...

Liquid paraffin can be used as a coolant fluid in electronic and cutting devices due to its suitable capabilities such as electrical insulating, high heat capacity, chemical, and thermal stability, and high boiling point. In this study, the dynamic viscosity of paraffin containing the alumina nanoparticles has been examined experimentally. The nanofluids with different composition of alumina (0...
